The latest newsletter from our local NPFS reps is packed full of news.

Highlights:

  • Dr Alasdair Allan, Minister for Learning, Science & Scotland's Languages has been invited by the NFPS to meet parents from Aberdeenshire in Aboyne on the evening of Mon 17th June 2013.
  • Establishment of NPFS Aberdeenshire Parent Forum to provide formally-coordinated regional parental representation (see proposed chain of representation).
  • Did you know that there is currently no formal parental representation on Aberdeenshire Council's Education, Learing and Leisure Committee, which takes important decisions and sets policies which directly affect our schools and the Education Services? This should soon change, as a recommendation for the addition of parent representatives will be put to the Committee in August 2013.
  • Free Scottish Parent Teacher Council sessions for parents, Parent Councils and PTAs: Parent Council Essentials, Mon 10th June 7-9pm, Braemar Primary School; Focus on Communications , [Note 11/06/13 - this Huntly event now cancelled->]Thurs 13th June 7-9pm, The Gordon Schools, Huntly.
