All parent council meetings are open to all parents/carers of pupils at Banchory Academy - please do come along if you'd like to find out more.

SPTC INFORMATION & TRAINING SESSIONS 

All parents, Parent Council and PTA members in Aberdeenshire are welcome to attend the following FREE sessions “FOCUS ON COMMUNICATIONS” 

  • Tuesday 22nd April at Mintlaw Academy, Station Road, Mintlaw, AB42 5FN
  • Wednesday 23rd April at Banchory Academy, Schoolhill, Banchory, AB31 5TQ
  • Thursday 24th April at Mearns Academy, Aberdeen Road, Laurencekirk, AB30 1AJ

All sessions start at 7pm with refreshments available from 6.30pm.

The difficulty of teacher recruitment has been a hot topic at recent Parent Council meetings. It’s a nationwide problem (see TESS this week) but particularly acute here in Aberdeenshire. Maria Walker, Aberdeenshire’s Director of Education, has written to all parent councils to explain what steps Aberdeenshire Council is taking to address this challenge.
