Finally, a reminder that the Parent Forum AGM takes place on Thursday August 30th from 7-7:30pm in room 4 at the school.

The next meeting will be the final meeting of this session: Thursday June 14th at 19:00 in Room 1 (adjacent to the school library).

Wishing you all a relaxing summer break, and sending all good wishes for the future to all youngsters who are leaving school and moving on to the next phase in their lives.

Please note that the Parent Council meeting originally scheduled for Thursday May 3rd has been postponed to Thursday May 10th at 7pm in the school library. All parents and carers are welcome at all meetings. If you would like to raise an item of concern, please contact any parent council member or email chair@ba-pc.org.

We've recently discovered the useful resource that is

Its content ranges across a wide range of subject matter, from difficult topics about sex, relationships and the internet or body image and peer pressure to broader parenting topics like ‘how much sleep do teenagers need?’.

Do take a look, the material is very helpful. It's a UK-wide site, not Scotland-only, but most of the content is not country-specific.

The BAPC March meeting was delayed a couple of weeks because of the snow closures, but that didn't prevent a good turnout for a discussion around various concerns raised recently by parents. The formal minutes will be posted here in due course, but we have prepared a document for the parent forum re the following discussion points: 

  • Uniform
  • Mobile phones during lesson time
  • League tables and academic results
  • Lunchtime exit for pupils.

Remember, if there is anything you would like the Parent Council to discuss, please contact us. You can come along to any meeting in person or, if you would prefer, ask the parent council to raise the matter on your behalf.
